Black Friday in NYC

November 10, 2016

Black Friday in New York is incredible. People line up for stores to open and prices to plummet. While this happens across the country, the Big Apple does it bigger. Areas like Times Square, which are beautifully decorated for the holidays, are filled with people trying to get all their holiday shopping done. New Yorkers know where to get the best deals on the biggest shopping day of the year; why shouldn’t you? In order to level the playing field, we’ve come up with a list of 3 places for your Black Friday needs when you come to NYC.

Barneys New York is an upscale department store specializing in some of the hottest designer wear. Sales on black friday can go as low as 40%, making high-end fashion items into affordable gifts or great souvenirs of New York for yourself. Barneys New York has two locations: 660 Madison Ave in Lenox Hill, between W. 60th and W. 61st streets; and 2151 Broadway in the Upper West Side, between W. 7th & W. 76th streets.

Macy’s is known for a lot more than the holiday Parade. Black Friday deals start on Thanksgiving at this 10 floor department store. You can check your coat rather than carry it, as you look for the best items at the best prices. The store recently underwent a $400 million renovation. Macy’s is located in Herald Square, between 34th and 35th on Broadway.

The Oculus Mall features over 100 stores from Apple to Victoria’s Secret. The Oculus is a newly built mall that stands across the street from the 9/11 memorial. With a large number of clothing, toy, tech, and jewelry retailers – and a host of great food options, the Oculus at the World Trade Center is the number one shopping destination for Black Friday this year. The Oculus is in Downtown Manhattan, at 21 Dey St.
