It may be hard to get tickets to Hamilton on Broadway, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking out any of the other amazing plays and musicals that NYC has to offer, from classic hits to today’s newest shows. There is a lot to see on Broadway, so when you come to visit the Big Apple, try to go and see one. The Broadway Theater district is downtown, only a subway ride away from where we end our 9/11 Memorial and World Trade Center tours.
Check out some of Broadway’s timeless classics; like Cats, Wicked, and the Phantom of the Opera. For a great show with the kids, Aladdin and The Lion King are great choices. For something new and exciting, Waitress and School of Rock are movies-turned-play, Waitress, a nominee for a 2016 Tony award, follows the story of a pregnant southern waitress in an abusive marriage. School of Rock is a show about a small-time rock and roll musician who poses as a substitute teacher. He discovers the musical talent of his students and preps them for a Battle of the Bands.
There are over 50 Broadway plays and musicals out now and coming soon. Be sure to check one out when you are in the city. For more information on all of the shows, visit www.broadway.com.
