The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the premiere locations to see great culture in New York City. With 3 locations throughout Manhattan, checking one out after your City Tale Tour is a great way to continue seeing the wonders of the Big Apple. One ticket gives you same day admission to all three locations.

The Upper East Side of Manhattan houses The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Breuer. The Met Fifth Avenue is the main building of the 3, and displays art from around the world, some of it thousands of years old. The Met Breuer houses modern art galleries and contemporary pieces from around the globe. Near the northern tip of Manhattan, in a French Monastery overlooking the Hudson River; is The Met Cloisters. This branch features beauty of the Medieval Era, from art, architecture, and the gardens.

To make sure that you have a good time exploring the grandeur of these museums, here are some pro-tips from our knowledgeable tour team.

  • Flash photography isn’t allowed in the Museums. But, pictures without flash are allowed in most areas, unless otherwise stated by signs or museum staff.
  • You can take some time to do sketches in the museum, provided they are done in pencil; pens and markers are not allowed.
  • Water bottles can be brought into the museum, but not food or other drinks. Eat before you go in.
  • All backpacks, purses, and other bags must be checked at entrance. If you can travel light, you can avoid the long bag-check lines.
  • For visitors with young children; most strollers are allowed. Oversized and jogging strollers are not allowed, so stick with smaller ones if possible. Smaller strollers will be easier on you throughout your whole visit to the city.
